LEFT HANGING

“Left Hanging” explores the concept of isolation and invisibility. Many struggle with feeling important to others. Sometimes it can feel as if you could be “falling off a cliff” and nobody would notice - but you notice others. You see people go out of their way to help others, and you do the same, but they leave you hanging. Mental health has been a huge motivator for my paintings, and this one symbolizes the things that people don’t see, both literally and metaphorically. It’s easy to think someone is okay when you aren’t “seeing” them, understanding them, ignoring the little things. Meanwhile you see yourself falling. Holding so tightly, hoping that someone will see you and care enough to pull you up off that cliff.

The Unwound Series.

The Unwound Series, like so many other things, was built on a feeling. At one point in time, we all might feel as though our lives are unwinding. Things are changing, people are moving, love is being lost. Whatever the reason is, becoming unwound can start out blissful, then quickly change to something much darker. It’s all dependent on how you perceive those changes, and whether or not you are willing to grow through them, or let them pull you apart.
